Three scripture verses from the Brit Chadasha (New Testament) give our ministry its direction. Matthew 28:18-20 – And Jesus came and spoke to them saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the HOLY Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Our Messiah’s Great Commission is embedded with a great command, “Make Disciples.” Discipleship and instruction in the commands of Jesus is an imperative of any bible bases ministry. Beit Sar Shalom does this through local congregations, bible studies, one on one mentoring, conferences and seminars. James 1:27 – Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in the in distress, and to keep oneself unstained from the world. Help for those in need, help without any strings attached, is also a main focus of Beit Sar Shalom. We have humanitarian aid programs for the homeless on the beaches of Tel Aviv, soup kitchens, distribution centers, counseling and help programs for single mothers and outreach programs to Israel’s holocaust survivors to name a few. Romans 1:1 – Paul, a bond-servant of Christ Jesus, called as an apostle, set apart for the gospel of God,… If the presentation of the gospel is not one of the focuses of a ministry, then that which Paul was separated for is missing. Paul continues in his letter to the Romans to state in 1:17 that the very “Righteousness of God” is revealed in the gospel. Beit Sar Shalom believes that all people in Israel need to know of the righteousness of God for it is the “Power to salvation” that Israel so desperately needs. Discipleship, humanitarian work and the Gospel, these are the three foundations upon our ministry rests. |
