Discover Israel VolunTours  Visiting Short Term Mission Teams – Throughout the year you can come on short-term ministry trips. They bring their energy, excitement and encouragement to help alongside us in our day to day activities.

If the team is small enough and there is availability, they can stay in our Jerusalem Messianic Center and one of our staff members will always accompany them on ministry outings. According to budget and dates, teams can host banquets, visit the distribution centers, help in a Holocaust Survivor’s home, cook a meal for a single mother etc. We love when teams come and serve with us, as well as see some of beautiful Israel! Teams are encouraged to take a couple days of their trip to see the Old City, the Galilee area and hike around Masada and Ein Gedi and take a ‘swim’ in the Dead Sea. We call this your time to VolunTour!

We can custom design a volunteer tour for your group in order to Discover Israel.

An average tour is 10-14 days (including 2 travel days) and would be divided into two parts: 4-6 days of touring with a local licensed Messianic Jewish tour guide (for example: Old City Jerusalem, Dead Sea, Masada, Qumran, The Galilee, Caesarea and local places around Jerusalem) and 4-6 days of ministry side by side with us in places such as Jerusalem, Tel Aviv and Sderot.

The team will share with us in our work among Holocaust Survivors and visiting our Distribution Centers and helping pack food parcels for the poor and needy. Other possible ministry opportunities include playing soccer with the kids at a local foster home, hosting a party for single mothers, sponsoring a banquet for Holocaust Survivors, etc.  Our ministry is based on helping and serving those in need, and sharing about the Lord, our lives and testimonies throughout this process.

We will work with you to plan the touring, volunteering, and budget. All expenses are paid for by the participants in the tour.  If there is room available in the Jerusalem Messianic Center, a group of 8-12 can sleep there (bunkbeds), for a charge.  If not, local hotels can be found.  Any special ministry projects the team wishes to host – such as banquets for Holocaust survivors, pizza nights for kids, special evenings for single mothers, are paid for by the visiting tour group.

This is perfect for a Sunday School group, a youth/young adult missions trip or a few families (teenagers and above) coming together to serve cross-culturally.  As well as a university or college team on their school break.

A staff worker will always be present with your group to guide, explain and help navigate the different culture and language.  We require that you do some prior preparation – learning and reading on your own before you arrive. We will direct you to suitable resources to prepare you for your time in Israel. This is not a 5 star trip, but a down-to-earth, intense and rewarding way of getting to know the Land and the people.
